Backus said he had no time to avoid the moose.Backus was treated at the scene for minor injuries caused by glass from the broken windshield. No one else in the car was injured. But there is a 70 percent chance of rain, an ODOT spokesman said.The new plan is to close the westbound lanes from 9 p.m. Aug. 19 to 5 a.m. Aug. 22.The work is part of an $8.4 million project to resurface I-76/77 from the Kenmore leg to Brown Street. The work is to be completed in October.Bridge workAKRON: The Ruhlin Co. will close South Main Street between Wilbeth Road and Firestone Boulevard this morning for construction.The road will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon for work on a pedestrian bridge across the street. Kelso said in a prepared statement. “But now we’re hearing of at least one local roofing contractor who’s canvassing Canton and Akron area neighborhoods offering to inspect and repair roofs, often insisting homeowners sign contracts.“The problem is that homeowners may be forced into repairs before they’ve even filed an insurance claim. Since they’ve signed contracts, they may be responsible to honor them without fully understanding their potential liability.”
